Bratwurst Beer Bath


Use your favorite Bratwurst and enjoy this party pleaser. For an extended picnic you will have juicy sandwiches for those late arrivals.


2 Lbs. Bratwurst
The Dana Point Trinity©
Grilled Onion Slabs (See Recipe)
Two cans beer (Your preference)
2 Tbsp Dry Mustard
Rolls


Add Grilled Onion Slabs (recipe below), Two cans beer and 2 Tbsp Dry Mustard to a grill safe pan


Season Bratwurst with The Dana Point Trinity©
*Two Guys Grilling© Mediterranean Sea Salt
*Two Guys Grilling© Fine Ground White Pepper
*Two Guys Grilling© Granulated Onion
Place on a medium low grill
Turn as needed
Place grill safe pan on upper shelf of gas grill, or indirect heat
Grill Bratwurst on low direct flame until done, or very gray and firm
Add Bratwurst to grill safe pan
Allow Bratwurst to simmer (as long as you can stand it)
Serve with chewy rolls and your favorite mustard

Greg Carbone’s Grilled Onion Slabs

Greg Carbone has been a friend of Two Guys Grilling© for some time now. As a manufacturers representative for a major grill manufacturer, and a sometimes vegetarian, he knows his stuff. Greg went wild for this recipe.


Onions (White, brown or red)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Dry Basil (Or your favorite dry herbs)

*Two Guys Grilling© Mediterranean Sea Salt
*Two Guys Grilling© Fine Ground White Pepper
*Two Guys Grilling© Granulated Onion


Peel Onions
Slice into 3/4 inch slabs
Place in zip top bags
Add Extrta Virgin Olive Oil to cover
Sprinkle with Basil (He is Italian) and The Dana Point Trinity©
Refrigerate for 24 hours, Remove to platter
Place on hot grill
Grill for one to one and a half minutes
Turn over, Grill for one to one and a half minutes
Remove to serving platter


As an entree for vegetarians, or a side dish for carnivores, the flavor can’t be beat.
